Coachman Destiny Complete Story
This is a 1997 Coachman Destiny Motorhome with 300hp Cummins Pusher in great condition.
In late June, we decided to take a major trip. Being the type that doesn't want to be sitting on the side of the highway broken down, we took the unit to Camping World and asked them to give it a COMPLETE inspection. The service manager pulled out the checklist they use to inspect units they are selling and said the inspection is not cheap but covers everything on the coach. They checked everything from the brakes to the seal in the toilet. Once completed, we had them fix all the safety and maintainance issues. After they finished, we replaced the tires, had new carpet installed, upgraded to flat panel TVs, and had a new Jack's amplified antenna and a DVD player installed.
We purchased this unit because of its quality. Power leather seats, washer/dryer combo, basement style A/C with heat (just like at home). Wood trim double door fridge with ice maker. The Cummins 300hp diesel pusher on the Spartan chassis is a proven winner. Other motorhomes with these features, in this condition, and only 80,000 miles (approx) were in the $50 - 75,000 range. Once we saw this unit, my wife and I could not justify spending the extra money, This unit has all the features we were looking for. After upgrading the interior and having a diesel engine that can go 500,000 miles without a problem, what does that extra money really buy?
If you are looking for a comfortable motorhome that leaves you with money to use it, this is definitely the unit to consider.
